Baby go-go

The farthest Sawyer has traveled under his own power is the width of our house. The fartherst he's traveled with us is to the beach (about a 5-hour car ride) when he was two weeks old. Soon we'll be taking a five-hour plane ride across the country. Since I'm not allowed to stick him below in a pet crate, I'm looking for travel advice from experienced parents . . . or non-experienced parents who have humourous suggestions. Gimmie what you got.

yep, he reminds me of ryder. i am his favorite jungle gym. he climbs everything, and i also think all the time, it is only a matter of time before he (they) are married. I have no advice other than drugs, for both you and them:) I hear benadryl works great. Let me know waht you come up with as we will need to travel with them soon too. Also, how do you add the you tube?

for qualifying as "experts" since we've flown with Addie maybe 6 times already, I don't have much advice. The key is that you have your husband to lug the stuff around and hold Sawyer so you can pee solo. Heck, you're pretty much set. oh and don't expect the airplane to have a changing table in the bathroom. i have yet to see one. some advice, which doesn't apply here, is that i'd recommend flying southwest any chance you get. because there are no seat assignments and if the plane isn't full, you can board first and snag 3 seats in a row no questions asked. Addie gets to nap in her car seat in comfort - and for free - and you can enjoy a bloody mary. on another airline you just have to arrive early and hope they can rearrange you so that you have the extra seat. you'll be fine! and we can't wait to see you all.

Hi there - I got to your blog thru Addy's - I am Casey's mom in Michigan. We have not flown with Casey yet, but there is a lady at our church who swears that you should bring 2 styrofoam cups - like good ole fashioned coffee cups - and hold them over your kid's ears during take off. She says she and her husband few with their kids all the time and this was the secret to happiness. I have no first hand experience with this but she does seem to know a lot of stuff about kids. If you try it, I want to hear if it worked - have a great trip!
